TDS, or Total Dissolved Solids, measures the combined content of minerals, salts, and organic matter dissolved in water, expressed in mg/l (or ppm).
Why TDS matters
A very low TDS (like distilled water) can mean the water lacks beneficial minerals. Extremely high TDS can indicate excess salts or contaminants. A moderate, balanced range is generally considered ideal for taste and mineral content.
Common mineral contributors to TDS
- Calcium (Ca2+): supports bone and teeth strength
- Magnesium (Mg2+): supports heart and muscle function
- Sodium (Na+): helps maintain fluid balance
How to know your water’s TDS
A reputable supplier will test regularly and be able to share TDS readings on request — this is a fair question to ask before committing to any water service.
Vora Water’s label lists a TDS of 150-250 mg/l, with calcium 40-70 mg/l, magnesium 4-15 mg/l and sodium 7-30 mg/l. Ask us on WhatsApp if you want to know more. Ask us on WhatsApp about our current testing results.
